AFL in the News
May 1, 2003
GRAND PRAIRE, TX - Rebecca Pfundheller, President of Analytical Food Laboratories, Inc. (AFL), located in Grand Prairie, TX, announced today the acquisition of Professional Service Industries, Inc., (PSI) Food Testing Laboratory located in Arlington, TX, effective May 1, 2003.
"The acquisition was attractive because the focus of PSI's Food Testing Laboratory strategically fits in our long-term growth plans," said Pfundheller. "We are very committed to customer service and the merging of our capabilities will enable us to offer a few additional testing options and provide quicker turnaround on test results for our clients."
The facilities of the two companies are situated about one-half mile apart in the suburban communities between Dallas and Fort Worth and offer many of the same microbiological and chemical testing services for food, water, cosmetic and pharmaceutical products. Both facilities are now operating as AFL. After a transition period, PSI's Food Testing Laboratory technical staff and equipment will be merged into AFL's facilities.
PSI is one of the largest independent engineering and testing organizations in the U.S. performing Construction, Engineering, Geo-Technical Testing and Consulting at 260 locations across the country. The Arlington facility was the only PSI lab concentrating on food microbiology and analytical testing.
