Submitting Samples
To ensure the integrity of our test results, AFL follows a stringent process for sample submission and handling as follows:
Shipping & Handling
Samples should be kept in original packaging to minimize handling, exposure or contamination during shipment. Appropriate containers must be used to ship samples. Perishable items must be enclosed in coolers and shipped via overnight carrier. Non-perishable items may be boxed and shipped for overnight or ground delivery. Please download and include a Sample Submission / Chain of Custody Form with your shipment.
Receiving
When receiving samples, AFL properly documents their receipt and stores the containers under designated temperature or ambient conditions throughout storage and testing. We also have the capability to establish a valid Chain-of-Custody starting at the point of sample collection and adhereing to the required standards for handling and reporting. Be sure to include a Sample Submission / Chain of Custody Form with your shipment.
Reporting Results
Whether you require traditional printed reports via mail or fax, or electronic files delivered via email, AFL will format results to meet your needs. Our staff can also help you understand and interpret the data you recieve.
Sample Retention & Disposal
AFL will store samples under designated temperature or ambient conditions for up to 30 days after delivery of the final report. Unless other arrangements are made, samples will be discarded after that time.
